Bio for Aslaug Marie Holgersen (1977)

Born in Baerum, Norway. Grew up, went to school, continiously searching for ways to realize different creative ideas. Occupied with sound, movement and visuals in different settings.

Started playing the double bass 16 years old while going to high school at the Waldorf School in Baerum. Played with different school and amateur orchestras. Teacher: Steinar Haugerud

Studied at the Norwegian State Academy of Music with Svein Haugen and Knut Guettler. Bachelor of Music and Teachers training diploma. Studied at the Royal Concervatory in The Hague with Knut Guettler and Jean-Paul Everts. Master of Arts, chamber music playing with focus on 20th and 21st Century repertoire.

Has been appearing as free-lance ensemble and orchestra musician, chamber musician and improviser in Norway, Sweden, France, Spain and The Netherlands. Teaching double bass playing at different levels since 1994.

Followes the sonology course at the Royal Concervatory in The Hague since September 2003 to extend her knowledge of electronic music. Bassplayer of Insomnio Ensemble for the season 03-04 and first half of this season.

Is part of the Dendriet network for electronic and accoustic musicians, based in The Hague.
